Princess Beatrice’s wedding date announced

After weeks of speculation, the Royal Family have officially announced that Princess Beatrice will hold her wedding reception at Buckingham Palace in May this year.

Princess Beatrice of York and her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will say ‘I do’ on Friday, May 29 2020 at The Chapel Royal, St. James Palace.

“Her Majesty The Queen has kindly given permission for the ceremony to take place at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace,” reads a statement from Buckingham Palace. “The ceremony will be followed by a private reception, given by The Queen, in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.”

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi join other royals to marry in St James Chapel such as Queen Victoria to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg on 10 February 1840 and the then Duke of York and Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (later King George V and Queen Mary) in 1893.

The wedding is most likely to be more low-key than other royal weddings. Both BBC and ITV have decided not to live broadcast the wedding as a result of the controversy surrounding her father, Prince Andrew.
