Kristen Wiig is a married woman. The comedienne confirmed she secretly married partner Avi Rothman after more than five years together.
While promoting her latest film Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, the actress recounting a story of when she thought Rothman, who she described as “my boyfriend at the time”, would propose.
After finishing her story, Colbert pushed for clarification on what she meant by that and Wiig replied, “He’s now my husband, we did get married.”
The actress and Rothman welcomed twins via surrogacy in 2020, after struggling with IVF.
“Besides the fact that we are where we are and it’s hard to not feel so much of the s**t and struggle that’s going on, in my home I am very lucky about having these two babies and my husband,” she said during an interview with Howard Stern. “They make it all better. It’s changed my life… There’s something really nice about being home with them all the time.”
